William A. McEachern is an American economist, educator, and author. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in History from Wake Forest University and his master’s and doctoral degrees in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. McEachern is a Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Connecticut, where he taught for over 35 years. He has also taught at the University of Western Australia and the University of Connecticut Graduate School.
McEachern has written numerous books and articles on economics and teaching economics, including Economics: A Contemporary Introduction (now in its 12th edition), Microeconomics: A Contemporary Introduction, and Teaching Tips for College and University Instructors. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the University of Connecticut’s highest award for teaching excellence.
In addition to his academic work, McEachern has consulted for various organizations, including private corporations and government agencies. He has also served as an economic expert witness for court cases.
